I'm happy to report that Gabatrix: Veleshar has been completely uploaded on Storiesonline. Veleshar has been a fun project and fan commission story related to the Gabatrix universe. I also have an exciting array of news: production of Gabatrix: The Violet Wave Audiobook is underway as I work on its final edition, which is being made at the same time.
I've kept my last blog post short because my prior posts keep getting deleted or removed. This removes a lot of the content that I provide to detail the book and future plans I provide.
This brings into another discussion I'm going to make as well. I'm checking the scores and noting that the scores dropped consistently as each chapter dropped. I don't know how Storiesonline has altered their voting system. Supposedly, they got rid of 1 bombing, but I question how they've done it. I'm getting this feeling that someone is waiting for each chapter to drop so they can pop the lowest score they can possibly put in before the system detects that review bombing is taking place. I don't know if that's how the system works or not.
I want to make it clear that I put my stories on Storiesonline so they can be critiqued. I do get constructive and positive feedback, which is always welcome, but a point score voting system accomplishes little. I can wake up and look at my message box, waiting for replies, and instead see scores drop. With the exception of a couple of messages here and there, I have no idea if the readers have an interest in the story, hate it, like it, trolls, attempted sabotage, or if the ones that liked it remained more silent. For all I know, a story dealing with shark women, maybe a reader was bitten by a shark as a kid and downvoted the story because of it. I don't know and all I'm left with is a number.
Veleshar, as of this moment, is the lowest rated story of my Gabatrix stories. Noted, this is based on a smaller number of votes compared to the ones that compiled more. However, I will state that I feel that this story doesn't deserve that. I would have expected the scores to be lower with the first set of stories, when my writing experience and grammatical knowledge was less than it is now. I understand that newcomers will come and go. Gabatrix is such a large universe that some readers will jump into the latest story and ignore the prior stories, which isn't really fair to the overall universe. Veleshar was designed as an expansive piece that introduces some new characters while bringing prior unknown characters to life. Before I was commissioned to write it, I originally had no intentions of writing a story for Shira's mother, but as I began planning the story months before writing, I felt that a good story could come from it, including coming up with her ship design, and a story to circulate around it, her, and the characters as well. The book became more than that. It served as a small bridge gap between a future planned prequel series of Gabatrix that would focus on the unknown characters of the past.
While I may have less issue with a fan-commissioned story, I still take some notice to possible attempted derailment. Understand, if I had it my way, I would disable the voting block, especially if there is an attempt to potentially sabotage it. I understand, that not everyone would like a story where a human is having fun with alien women, but there are others that would, which is why I write about it. :)
Know that your constructive feedback matters. To give you an idea, when I started production of Gabatrix: The First Peace Audiobook, I also did a Final Edition overhaul of Gabatrix: The First Peace. With + four years of writing experience under my belt, your messages to me, and Grammarly in tow, I committed to an overhaul of the story. I began to trim the fat, cutting down unnecessary repeated concepts, fix errors, improve dialogue and improve the overhaul quality of the story. The First Peace, Final Edition has been uploaded onto Storiesonline recently and used as the script for the audiobook. Your prior messages to me are used to take note as I go through this overhaul. Even, now a Final Edition overhaul is coming forth to the Violet Wave. In the end, I feel that it's a difference between night and day taking a good story and making it better.
So I ask of this, give Gabatrix: Veleshar a chance. It's about a man who meets the love of his dreams and decides to transfer over to her ship to be with her and her crew. If you're into human and anthro relations then check it out. You might enjoy it more than you realize. If you like the story, then give it a good grade. If it isn't your thing, then there are plenty of other stories out there that the community on Storiesonline write. Don't be mean and bash it by slapping a low grade just because it isn't the thing you prefer in a story. If there are issues, then message me and be professional about it. I don't bite and always thank the people that point out the errors and mistakes that come along the way because that's how constructive feedback works.
I don't let this get to me, but I know the score system is one that can deter potential newcomers. Trolls will be trolls and its their way to extend a middle finger to the people who spend months of writing and work just to have someone slap a downvote in two seconds and walk away. Gabatrix has been a success on multiple fronts because of the fans that support it. Even the audiobooks was all in due thanks to the fans that helped make it happen. Fanwork has even been sprouting outward because of the success that the stories bring forth. I can more than promise that Gabatrix will continue after Veleshar with Gabatrix: The Wheels of Thunder. Thank you for spending your time in reading this and enjoy Gabatrix and its stories. :)
