Of plastic... Not credit cards, or even gift cards. I had suspected that the cabinet shop job was going to be a seasonal assignment when I sorted out exactly what I was doing... Or rather the customers they were building for. But I certainly enjoyed my time there, and hope I took some lessons from it.
I've moved on though and today was working with plastic again which is why I had a pocket full of plastic.
Anyway the drive is brutal again so I'm definitely going to be shopping for housing nearer to the job, provided it too doesn't end up being a seasonal assignment. But I was informed that I could expect 50 hours a week for 60-90 days at least.
However, on this job safety toed shoes are required, but it doesn't seem that I'm apt to fill them with sawdust, or even dust from the plastic, so I shopped for and picked up a pair of DeWalt branded 'sneakers' with a composite toe. Unfortunately they're a tad large... But the next half size smaller was definitely pinching...
Grr...
I shopped online at Redwing but their composite toed 'casual' shoes are only available at their brick and mortar locations. So I may be taking a short road trip to a location nearest ones are either Redding (I think there's still a store there) Grants Pass, or Medford.... I'll be giving the job plenty of time before I go for a pair of Redwing shoes though! They make Danner's look medium priced...
