Or lack thereof. As I've mentioned to many people who've commented on my work positively, in my opinion none of what I've written is ended at all well.
That, and not being willing to deal with Amazon has kept me from trying to sell the few (and they're very few) pieces that I've finished which aren't part of the Swarm Cycle universe.
Those pieces I wouldn't be comfortable trying to sell, even if they had good endings. Indeed it is the fact that every time I try to write an ending for It's a Helluva Job, that I simply delete what I've written as not good enough.
All of which leads back to the title of this blog: The Outline.
Or as I noted, the lack of an outline.
An outline is of course a plan or a road map. Where I started, where I want to go, and at least in general terms the steps I have to accomplish to get where I want to go.
Of course with a Swarm Cycle story in general you have a person who is going to be evacuated from the earth either as a 'sponsor' or as a 'concubine' and the story is how your main character deals with the disruption caused by evacuation.
Yet even with those broad strokes giving me direction I'm not feeling well about anything I've written toward making an ending for It's a Helluva Job.
