I have been researching this story for some time but have not gotten into it with the detail that I think it deserves. I use the same formula I used in "The 400 Year War" with most of the story giving an unbiased accounting of Historical Fact and then adding a fictional story in each chapter that gives the human side of the story. The 400 Year War story was about the period of 1492 - 1892 and related to the struggle between the European Settlers and the Native Indian populace. This story about the exciting city of Marseille in southern France is set during the period of 1940 - 1945 only a six year period of world struggle that saw the country of France split into two parts; the Occupied Territory under complete control of the Nazis, and Vichy France which operated as a supposedly unoccupied territory under control of the French Vichy government. Of course, Vichy France was a puppet government that followed the design given by the Nazi masters in Berlin. The key element of this story is the treatment of the Jewish population in France and their deportations to Concentration Camps across the map of Eastern Europe and the liquidation of six million Jews by the Hitler Regime.
