Years ago I met someone who told me that she liked discipline because it reset her bitch button. An intense session for a weekend made her less snotty and overall less unpleasant for a time.
However, she would eventually revert to her normal crabby behavior. She used the sessions like a chance to atone or purge for shitty things she did over the month and get her attitude adjustment.
That was the genesis of "Resetting My Bitch Button" asking - what if she finally had enough of looking at the bitch in the mirror staring back at her and concluded she should have that button held down permanently.
For the last two years I've been on-again/off-again writing this epic 52 chapter story. It's slightly over 300,000 words and it tells the tale of a woman who meets someone online willing to give her that experience.
In most stories, such characters have no family or obligations that prevent them from going down this rabbit hall. The "Shades of Gray" world where the woman is impossibly single with no family, and the man is a millionaire with no family connections either.
They have no financial obligations like a job to worry about. They have no bills to pay. No shopping to do. No house to clean because they have servants in the background scurrying about handling things. They don't even have a pet to feed or walk or a doctor's appointment to deal with.
I didn't focus on the mundane but I tried to present characters who had real life and all the dysfunction and chaos that can come with that. Unexpected people join the trek to Florida in an RV as they make their way to the master's house where we he lives with his family.
This is the story of that journey and the evolution along the journey. I didn't focus on what happens when they get there.
I took a long hiatus from writing the story for a variety of reasons -which stunted the readership. It was a labor of love because it was also an homage to some of my favorite authors (no spoilers in this post).
Now, it is complete and I invite you to give it a read through from the very start and see if this is one of my better stories or not.
