Edward O. Wilson, naturalist and philosopher, died yesterday (2021-12-26). I have been reading (and citing) Wilson since the 1970s, when I read his work on island biogeography and he was cited by Konrad Lorenz in a seminar. I bought "On Human Nature" in 1979 and "The Ants" in 1991, as well as "Sociobiology" and over a dozen other works, including Wilson's novel and his autobiography. I met him only twice in the 1990s, but will miss him nonetheless. He was 92.
