I just read a message from a veteran who read my story 'The Veteran' and one thing that really touched me is that they were unable to visit the Wall where the names of their brothers were because of the pain that kept them away.
They seemed to feel shame that they couldn't visit to talk to their lost ones but to me, thy are carrying a personal Wall inside them every day.
Their memories of those they served with and who never returned are always with them and that is what the physical Wall represents.
So to all those Veterans, know that you carry a Wall of Remembrance carved with the names of those who fell, inside you.
And I am so proud that my little story was able to touch so many Veterans.
Thank you.
