Last year I bought two second-hand Apple computers. My wife's Win7 desktop needed to be replaced and she refused to have a Win10 device. I considered reformatting the old tower with Linux, but in the end thought I'd try Mac. For my own interest, I picked up an elderly MacBook, and have been using it since about last March. My wife finally got round to saving all her stuff so I could swap out the tower for the iMac, which has, on the whole, been a success; my wife is not a technophile, but is finding her way around with it. The MacBook, though (unsurprisingly) has a very tired battery, and I've just got round to leaving it with a local iRepair shop, where it's going to have a new SSD drive and battery. As a result, I'm using my little Linux netbook again, temporarily. So if the occasional typo slips in, I'm blaming that poor little thing. I think I've satisfactorily managed to submit the second chapter of Penny's Promise from the file on my backup drive, but if anyone notices a slip-up in that, I'll be glad to hear of it.
