It seems I may be forced to replace my computer (lappy as that is all I have, and all I want) we've been over recommendations here, so that really isn't ground I need to cover. Current top runner is about $560 at Walmart. I don't want to pay that much for a computer, but really would like a true hd display and hope that one that has such a thing will have a decent graphics engine... The model (that only Wally's seems to carry any more) is the HP Lumina Gold. That does worry me a bit, but my budget is pretty much set. If I get over $550 (US dollars) I'm getting into hurt territory. The problem for me now is that I have a WI-FI router that I have forgotten the password for. I know, I know, I should use something that will put my passwords in an encrypted file and recall that password. For day to day things like here I rely on constant use to keep the password fresh... But my bank? Didn't use it for 6 months or more... Forgot it. WI-FI router? Haven't used it since I set it up... I know there ought to be a file (but winblowz hid it very well from me) that stores all the passwords that I told it to remember... So I could automatically log onto my router... Maybe if I replace it I'll resort to making myself manually log on so I can recall the password.... That way when I replace the next computer I shan't (maybe) have to replace my router... And even $50 for a router is more than I want to spend on top of what replacing my computer will cost.
