GOOD POST:
It allows me to talk about my book :-)

Great story. I have also worked EMP systems for the AD and will just leave at that as most are spoken about. Look forward to the next chapter of your story. -- anboyle8627
While Liberty Mountain is a work of Apocalyptic fiction (obviously), it is also an attempt to keep fantasy as true as fiction allows.
My characters each have their own back story, most of which we'll never see. I use these submerged biographies to guide me as I throw them into situations we can only imagine.
Liberty Mountain assumes a series of Carrington Event Level superstorms collide with the earth at random intervals over several days.
It is a rare, but not impossible happening. My job is to imagine the aftermath.
In addition to the loss of the grid and most micro-chips, I think the resulting fires will be a transformative event as firestorms consume cities worldwide.
According to newspaper accounts of the day, the 1859 Carrington Event produced currents so powerful, "platinum contacts were in danger of melting and "streams of fire" were pouring forth from the circuits."*
Now, imagine the impact upon our civilization such an event times two would have if it happened today. The grid would be down forever and cities would be ash. That is the world in which SkyWolf and the Sisterhood are about to enter.
