My last two blogs were related to this story which has top priority in my writing efforts. You might think that is odd because I only have 3 stories listed. I should explain that I am a solitary writer centered around the original writer known as "Harry Lime" and have 17 pen name accounts under the SOL system of free stories for all readers. My pen name here of Diane Destry is a recent addition to the Harry Lime line-up. I actually have over 800 stories submitted with some of them of novella or novel length. This story about a Serial Killer is entirely fictional and it started from my watching a German production of a Serial Killer and some of the ingredients of his motivations and evil actions. When I write as a female author persona, I do my best to think like a woman and usually my lead characters are strong-willed females with a varied background. The lead character in this story is "Trish Cavanaugh" a police detective in San Francisco that is both flawed and sometimes politically incorrect and insensitive to people's feelings. Sex plays a part in this story on two levels, First, there is the fact that the story is about a Serial Killer that rapes and murders females. That aspect alone probably causes some readers, who aren't really readers to dish out a "1" grade just to screw the pooch with grade assignment. On the secondary level, the sex in the story is related to the main character with her somewhat loose moral character and her teenaged adopted daughter. Other characters engage in carnal activities but it is incidental and not essential to the storyline. There is no actual incest, rape or beastality in the main story. The actions of the killer are part of the story because that is the focus of the action. I have noticed that while approximately 2 out of 3 voters have scored this story in the "7 to 10 range", the fact that 5 voters scored it a "1" have dragged the story down into a 5 plus range. I suspect that some of that unfortunate circumstance was due to my presumption in using a different writing style and to include some boring reports of a confusing nature into the mix. The initial chapters are not easy reading and I apologize for that necessity. The later chapters will improve in readability as time goes on. This story will have 90 chapters in total and should end by the first week of January 2019. I estimate the total pages of content to be about 380 pages. I urge readers to comment on errors discovered for my follow-up edit and make suggestions on reducing confusion in the writing style. Thank you.
