A reader just mailed me news of a fatal flaw in Retribution. It destroys something that is central to the entire story. I made an assumption without checking a fact and this is all my fault.
I have a few options at this point. I can ignore the flaw and just continue on and hope readers suspend belief. Unfortunately, I'm not made that way and I can't do that.
I can just let the final 5 chapters play out and never write about Linda again. That's a possibility.
The third option is to try and write a plausible work around to fix the error.
I'm going with option 3. I am adding two additional chapters to the end of Retribution, making it a 14 chapter story instead of just the 12. This may ruin any possible sequel now. I'll really have to think long and hard if I want to continue further on this after chapter 14 posts.
