Writing Update and News

I was excited to be nominated for a Clitoride this year, but didn't really expect to win. There were too many good stories this year, so congrats to bluedragon for taking the Clitoride for Medium Story of the Year honors with Amber's Wedding.

I couldn't be happier with how well The Summer I Grew Up was received. Thanks for all the kind words sent to let me know what you thought. I know it's a different kind of coming of age story. The ebook version has the dedication, "This book is about the first three rules of adulthood. You're not special. Life isn't fair. Pleasure isn't love. Here's to hoping not everyone will have to learn them the hard way."

I've been busy behind the scenes getting my websites tuned up for a renewed push on the publishing front. You can search for Cotton Nightie Press to see what I've been up to. The big changes are better mobile browsing experience and a newly reformatted free stories section.

I've been writing for about five years now and have found that sharing free stories is the best way to promote my writing. I am primarily here on StoriesOnline.net but I also repost some stories on Wattpad and Sweek.

Now I've gotten four of my most popular free stories on my Cotton Nightie Press site as epub and mobi files, as well as plain html that works well on devices like phones and tablets. The stories are standalone and complete, just like you'd expect, but if you follow me here you've probably read them all.

All this is all to prepare for a summer launch of a new Bella Chal book I've tentatively called Relationships Passing in the Night. It features the chance encounter in an Atlanta airport bar between two executives, Charles Buckner and Chloe McClane. Both of them are successful in their own companies, but wrecked personally. And sometimes those broken pieces can fit together in unexpected ways and make beauty from ashes.

I'm about 40K words in now and am loving how the story is shaping up. It's more of a straight romance, but has some heat in the right places. I hope to be done in a few weeks and maybe ready to publish by July. I'll be looking for beta readers in June after I get the revisions back from my editor. Please Like my Cotton Nightie Press and Bella Chal pages on Facebook or follow my blog here or on Twitter for updates.

Thanks!

Cotton Nightie
