I just noticed that Nowhere … Like Home?, has now set my all-time comment high, at 63, as of Tues. Jan 21, previously, the highest story comment count was The Demons Within, at 50, the next closest was a mere 30. So thanks for the interest, as getting readers to comment is often a viable indicator of a story’s true impact with readers, as scores alone often reflect a lot of different issues. Yet with comments, the readers themselves are telling you both what’s good, and what doesn’t work well.
Switching to a once-a-week strategy is definitely helping, as I’m now three chapters ahead (ch. 9 - 12), but a three-chapter lead isn’t nearly as healthy as a six-week lead, so I’ll post the chapter 9 on Thursday, as planned, but continue the once-a-week posting for another week, before returning to twice-a-week postings.
A lot of the issue was getting back into the regular posting schedule after being away from it for so long, and I feel like I’m adjusting, yet I’m not yet ready to cut the cord entirely quite yet. But, I now have several editors working on the story, so hopefully the chapters will be edited, before posting from now on, though no guarantees yet. But things are definitely looking better.
A new, better edited version of Nowhere … Like Home?" has now been re-published to Bookapy.com.
It’s only partially edited, though the updates and the edits are continuing, further revising the content, making it more consistent, along with further editing of the recently revised content (9 out of 19 chapters so far), reflecting what’s been published to SOL (Storiesonline.com).
For anyone who’s already purchased it, just update the newest version and it’ll update the version you already have.
First comprehensive editing pass done, so I’m posting now, well before my next posting, I screwed it up the last time. No significant content changes, yet it’s much cleaner, though I welcome any further contributions.
I’ll post a new version of the entire novel on Bookapy.com soon. It’s still not fully edited, yet it’s better (half-edited) than it was initially.
Along with the new “Nowhere … Like Home?” there are minor corrections to chapters 1, 3, 5 and 7. The content isn’t substantially changes, yet various necessary fixes improve them (partially types but also some formatting changes as well).
