What stood out to me most wasn't the romance it was the character work. Every interaction felt layered, and the emotional tension was built so naturally that I couldn't stop reading. Deniece feels like a fully realized, mature character, and Tim's internal conflict is believable without feeling forced. Emma, especially, is fascinating because she's unpredictable and constantly shifts the power dynamic whenever she appears.
