I wrote a new story "Big Female Trouble" and thought I'd release it one chapter at a time, since I don't recall ever doing that before. I have 7 chapters written and consider it finished, though I guess I might decide to make some modifications if I got user feedback. My current plan is to release a new chapter every other day. Fits one was posted yesterday. I welcome feedback on that idea or suggestions for improvement.
My days of writing erotic stories seem to be coming to a close -- though that's neither a threat nor a promise.
Most of my stories of the past 15 years (many that could not be posted here due to age restriction) survive the demise of ASSTR in the Wayback Machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20220624172213/https://www.asstr.org/~Sterling/
My latest (last?) SOL story "How Can I Get Pregnant?" is inspired (by free association only) with the horrible true story of Warren Jeffs.
I naturally like to have people read my stories and be happy. In the past I've always(?) posted a story in 1 piece. I recently wrote "Bond-Mates..." of roughly 110K bytes. As an experiment, I divided it into 3 parts, and posted 1, "to be continued" and then in a week plan to post part 2, then 3 a week later. My theory was that people would like smaller pieces rather than one huge story. On the other hand, having a finished story is good. Which would readers like better? Parts are necessary if you want to tailor later parts based on reader feedback, but in this case the whole thing is finished. (Was there a better place to post this than my blog?)
It looks like ASSTR is back up. Who knows for how long, but it's up now. I found it was also possible to post new stories, not just read old ones.
In my last post I said I had been posting underage stories at Lolicit, while lamenting that anyone who wanted to read them had to jump through substantial hoops. I just found a new place, "Archive of Our Own" or AO3 that takes such stories. It's primarily for fan fiction but also has "Original Work" as an option. So I'm slowly reposting the Lolicit stories there, penname "Sterling" on account "SterlingSmith". If anyone knows if there is a catch or fine print to posting on that site, I'd love to know.
My writing new stuff has been in a lull lately, but I still plan to post all my stories here at SOL that meet the age requirement.
I pulled out my spreadsheet today and updated it with the latest SOL hit counts. I hadn't done that in 2.5 years. But it looks like I've averaged about 115 hits per day in that interval. So I'm glad people are enjoying the stories even if I'm not around much myself.
