I'm going to chalk this one up to a Bethesda issue.
Those of us have played the game know that there are people who are synths that, when they die, don't drop a synth chip. I would literally need to rewrite a LOT of my story based upon something I just found out today. Apparently Sturges is a synth. At least people who have made him a non-essential character (since otherwise you CAN'T kill him) have done so, and he drops a synth chip. Since I've never seen it when I've tried to pickpocket things from him, and you DO see it on some other people that you KNOW are synths - and some who ARE synths don't drop them when they die, I'm going with the "he's not a synth" at all.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Just consider it a 'mod' that I've done, in case you were also like me. Mind you, I've only played completely through the game something like 20 times, I have it modded heavily on my Xbox One, and I use the wiki for a lot of things ... and this is THE first time I ever saw that about Sturges, years after the game came out.
Other than that, hope everyone is still liking what I'm writing!
With the subtitle, how I enjoyed writing the bitch slapping Elder Maxson.
My thanks to all my readers. I appreciate that you're taking the time to read the words I've strung together here. With this chapter, I should have just under 130,000 words uploaded for this story at this point, Chapter 10. I just calculated that I've got just over 275,000 total written at this point, working on Chapter 22, actually, and depending upon how people cooperate, I should have it finished at Chapter 25.
Maybe ,,,
Well, if you know the game, you already know the plot. But finding it out the first time you played through, without cheats ... talk about your slap in the face.
There are NO watersports in this chapter. Don't complain about the code not being included. Seduction of someone with their pants down that just used the bathroom - yes. That's different.
Seriously, one thing that the modded version of Skyrim had that I played when I wrote Legacy of a Legend was bodily functions. Your character (and the NPC's) would every so often quite literally have to go. Which seriously brought back the old rhyme to me.
In days of old,
When Knights were bold,
And toilets weren't invented,
You left your load,
Beside the road,
And walked away, contented.
Yeah, I know - pretty crappy, right? [rimshot}
Just missed it, completely. GameLit, since this is based upon a rather successful game franchise. Keep those cards and letters coming, folks.
I've just uploaded Chapter 6.
In case anyone wonders, the history that Tina mentions is actually what happened in the Fallout Universe. I didn't have to create any of that.
See you next week, keep those cards, letters, and comments coming!
