Been so long since I've written one of these.

Life, death, ADHD, work, all sorts of things have been a huge hamper to my writing over the last few years, let alone the ever dreaded Writers Block. However, I'm finally making some progress at least through the last and my goal is to find time to start getting back to writing and finally finishing Becky's Freshman year.

I'm going to share the chapter names for the rest of the story, part of my commitment that I'm actually going to do this and actually going to get it done.

I'm starting Work on Becky's New Normal and have some of the later chapters written in skeleton form already.

I know there's like 3 of you out here who will find this interesting, but I had to do it.

So chapter 6 of Welcome to College: Becky's freshman year has posted, and of course your girl had to get a little strange. It's short, but it's called "An Early Night Part 1" which is of course probably weird to put a part 1 as a chapter name in the middle of a serial, but that's how it goes. It will make sense in context of things, I swear. Chapter 7, which will be "An Early Night Part 2" is in progress, and it's gonna be a nice surprise I think.

Of course, I know many of you will wait till I'm done to start, just hope you enjoy it if it's your thing when the time comes

Guess that'll teach me to not pay attention to pen names…

So I know I probably miss out on a lot of possible readers due to my slow as fuck pace of writing at times, stupid ADHD. But it seems like this it the year that things are really on a roll for this story.

Chapter 3 was published at Halloween, Chapter 4 was published on Sunday, the follow up diary entry published this morning, and I've already finished up the shorter but still pertinent Chapter 5, tentatively tiled "The 'Deal' With Patrick.

I've had an outline of the story done for years, and sometimes only having the outline helps. Chapters 2, 3, 4 and 5 have all expanded the story in ways I never originally imagined as I wrote the outline years ago. Waiting till I was ready and inspired has definitely helped.

Chapter 4 though was momentous. Doubled the length of the whole story by itself. Introduced a ton of new characters (Patrick, Kim, Eddie) who will make a comeback in future chapters now, but introduced a few mysteries (the stranger who knew her…). It's definitely amped up my creative juices.

I do hope that when it gets finished, those who wait for stories to end will take an interest.

So I originally started my Welcome to College sequel as 2 separate stories, not just one. The primary story, Welcome to College - Becky's Freshman Year and a companion story titled Welcome to College - Becky's Freshman Diary.

Partly cause of stories I've read recently, I've decided I'm gonna take a different approach and I'm redoing what I have of the story posted so far.

The basic idea is that both stories are going to merge together into one story. Ideally it's meant to be read in posted order (some will be named diary entries, some will be named chapters), but it will be possible for people to only read the legit chapters if for some reason that's all they want to do.

Anyway, the replacement is queued and we'll see what happens.

I had this crazy idea to turn one of my flash stories (stories I wrote for 1000 word and under contests elsewhere) into a small series of stories. Each will still follow the original rules, 1000 words or less, but the story will continue.
