Hello everyone!
It’s been a while since I posted any work on Stories Online, but please rest assured that neither “A Life Discovered” nor “Jim’s Story” is dead. In fact, both have chapters waiting to be posted.
The problem is that Patreon “reminded” me that they don’t allow NSFW works to be available for free, so - I’m sure you can guess where this is going - I’ve moved my content there behind a (very low) paywall. As many other authors do, I will now post new chapters of all my stories on Patreon several weeks before they appear on Stories Online. But rest assured, they will appear on Stories Online.
If you haven’t signed up for my Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/KevinJayStories - I’d encourage you to do so. There is still a free tier, so you can sign up for newsletters and updates at no cost. I also have a story that I started back in COVID days, and the first chapter will go to the Patreon free tier as soon as I’ve re-edited it. That (probably) will be a Patreon exclusive, so if you’re signed up for free, you’ll be able to read that when it’s published.

Hi everyone. Long time, no post!
Just a quick note to say that I just submitted chapter 15 of A Life Discovered here on StoriesOnline.
This chapter's taken a while to write, partly because real life got in the way, but mostly because it's important to the story and I wanted to get it right. To paraphrase Winston Churchill, chapter 15 doesn't mark the beginning of the end of the story, but it may well mark the end of the beginning.
I've always known how the story ends; the question has been how we get there and how quickly. This chapter, although it probably doesn't read that way, sets us on the way towards that ending. There's still plenty of the story left to tell, and we're probably only about halfway there, but we are on that road.
This chapter also marks a transition from long chapters that take ages to write into shorter, (hopefully) more frequent ones. That should mean that you shouldn't have to wait as long for the next instalment.
Anyway, please enjoy the new chapter!

Hello everyone.
I wrote “A Life Discovered” as an experiment. I had an idea for a story and wanted to see if I could write it down and whether people would enjoy it. But it's now got to the point where it needs some work if I'm going to complete the story the way I want to.
So here's what's happening:
- I've started going back over the already-published chapters and updating them. The characters pretty much do and say the same things in the same scenes, but I think the text now conveys the story better and is easier to read. Right now, updated chapters 1-4 are online. There's no need to go back and reread them to follow the story, but if you want to, I'd be grateful for any additional comments on whether you think they're an improvement.
- I've been trying to stick to one chapter representing one day in the story. But the characters have moved from doing pretty much everything together to doing more things alone or in pairs. That means it takes more words to describe what happens to all of them that day, and the chapters have been growing steadily longer. That also means it takes longer to write them, and so they get published less frequently.
- I’ve written the plot summary for the next three chapters, but I won’t start to flesh them out into full chapters until I’ve either finished updating the existing ones or your feedback tells me that this whole thing’s a bad idea. So there will be a short delay before new work appears.
The aim is to improve the current text, better structure the rest of the story, and switch to shorter, more frequently published future chapters.

Hello everyone!
Just a quick note to say that Chapter 13 of "A Life Discovered" is now in the final editing stage and will be posted on StoriesOnline.net in a few days, providing no real doozies come up in the editing process. Apologies that it's been over two months since the last chapter, but the festive season plus two weeks spent on the Norwegian coast delayed things. If there's a silver lining, it may be that the chapter's the longest yet and advances the storyline in several different ways.
