Which is Swedish for "happy midsummer!"
Today is midsummer eve, the day that Nordic countries feast and celebrate together in "folkfest". It is rumored that fair maidens frolic naked in the woods, but they are difficult to catch - maybe they are just nymphs after all?
Don't worry, we can bring those free souls to you, right here, right now! Enjoy Midsummer Madness
To rediscover the pure deeply satisfying romantic emotional power I want to express in my own in progress stories, I have paused my writing and focused on reading again.
Don't worry, I always finish my stories. But to get that delicious mind climax and bliss that Opus One excels at, I am rereading my all-time favorite SOL story: Opus One by Ryan Sylander
It's an interesting story by one of the SOL greats. But I think it was his first story, and the first half of it feels different from the second half. Mild spoiler: The first half is the hottest of burning contentment and bliss. The second half is as well written but is, I believe, what happens when authors listen too much to the comments section and try and inject some action.
So I like the first half better? Few probably agree with me. I feel distraught when the trio come dangerously close to dalliances that would risk the prefect harmony they have. I don't want to give too much away but I still finish the whole story every time I read it, unable to put it down.
Oh to write a quarter as well as Ryan does!
I hear there is an Opus Two in the works, following new characters. I hope their journey is as happy as the trio in One. I hope there aren't too many excursions into superficial encounters and bond style adventure. I'm hoping it keeps true to the very first writing and story telling Ryan blessed us with.
Go read Opus One! Go read it again!
Best regards,

Mariah Carey's classic is now, finally, 25 years after it was released, top of the charts!
Sick and tired of listening to sickly-sweet seasonal songs all day?
You can always read a sickly-sweet story about someone tired of a sickly-sweet season instead?
