but my new story is set in July - of 1969. The plot is completely fictional but the quotes from the Boy Scout Handbook (1965 edition) about "causing emissions" (masturbation) are true. I still have a copy of it. I also camped at Ten Mile River and Camp Alpine, although, unlike in the story, we went to the former for the second summer. The part about my troop declining and disbanding that year is also true. Anyway, Be Prepared for anything - including horny older ladies.

As Katherine had speculated might happen, Joanne seduces her into a midday sexual encounter. The act combines passion with a certain amount of long-standing hostility between the two.

This chapter is meant to show what has been going on in Katherine's mind under her seemingly quiet and pious demeanor. Well, actually she had been faking her Catholic piety for quite a while by the time she gets involved with Paul and Renée. Her fantasy is based on the character of an eighteen-year-old girl in a novel she has read.

This is partially a prequel to "My Summer With Nora," although there is some overlap. The major difference is that the serial is from Paul's point-of-view, while this story is entirely from hers. She describes her early days at City College in 1973 and her almost accidental first foray into campus prostitution. It continues well into 1974, when she has met Paul and quit her previous "profession" as described in the serial.

Perhaps feeling guilty about their ambivalent feelings about Joanne, Katherine and Paul cover it over with kinky sex in the basement of their office building.
