Well, it's finally done. This book took an incredible amount of work to write and edit. I initially intended to post this chapter-by-chapter as I wrote it over the summer, but my writing style is such that half the stuff from the first chapter needed to change by the time I'd written the final chapter. So now as summer ends, I'm finally ready to post my summer novel! As in, it's about summer. It's probably not a breezy read but hopefully it's relatively fun.
The current tags are for the whole book. Just so no one worries in the wrong direction, I'll say that there will be no incest content whatsoever.
Summer Lake is not based on any specific place, at best it's a combination of a few places in various parts of the US but none of them alone were much like the Summer Lake of this book. None of the characters are based on real people.
There are homophobic characters in the book and some of it might seem ridiculous by today's standards, but in 1990 this kind of stuff was pretty typical, I assure you.
The book is complete with 21 edited chapters. I will be doing a final copy edit and read-through before posting each chapter. The chapters are all quite long (8,000 words on average). Right now I'm planning to post a chapter each Monday and Friday until it's all up. I don't anticipate making any substantive changes at this late stage in the writing process.
