Due to unforeseeable personal problems I'm posting this to advise anyone reading that I won't be writing for the determinable future. I cannot comment on the nature of these problems. My only hope is that I may continue to write and post on this site somewhere in the future unless these problems resolve themselves naturally, sooner hopefully rather than later.
Just a general update, no release dates or anything like that. So far it looks like it'll be some five chapters finishing at chapter ten, which is as follows:
Chapter 6: I'd Rather Kiss a Cobra (14 pages - Reviewed)
Chapter 7: Solar Beam Canon (16 pages - Reviewed)
Chapter 8: Fury (16 pages - Reviewed)
Chapter 9: (15 pages so far - Unreviewed)
Chapter ten will act as the welcome stopping point where I'll be able to assess where the story is going, although I like the idea of periodic jumps to allow for the obvious progression the characters would make as time naturally passed by. If able, I'll fit a chapter 11 in there somewhere too.
The biggest obstacle to overcome is putting concept ideas for certain constructs like weapons and armour and so on, on full display, getting enough detail in to make it so it's believable. Even when I'm using pseudo science or just letting my mind run free with it. So things like looking up the pracical application for certain current day sciences into futuristic conceptual weapons, utility items, etc, is kinda time consuming, but worth it when I'm satisfied enough to put it and keep it on the page.
Rewriting is also an obstacle, I've never discovered this level of difficulty in resisting the urge to re-do whole bits in say the "Rock Punk Girl" series before as a comparison, which I hope to take up again once I finish off the "Sandmans' Promise" with three whole, seperate parts in total, two to three chapters dedicated to each part, because it feels long, even if it might read as a shorter story, more so when I'm like constantly trying to catch myself out with plotholes and probably missing one's, my own perspective can't afford me the grace of observing.
Until next time, thank you for your time and patience.
Chapter 1: A Directors Vision, has been posted. Sorry for the delay, ended up adding a few more pages to Chapter 2: An Actors Fortitude, then patching everything that followed.
Chapter 2 and 3 will be posted consecutively one after the other, their ready, I just typically do it like this to avoid any possible mishandlings along the way.
Parts 1,2,3 will be handled seperately, as seperate stories, so that they can be rated equally on their own merit, but ultimately characters from parts 1 and 2 will meet up in part 3, unless something changes along the way.
Until next time, thank you for your time and patience.
Part 1: Momma Bear
Chapter 1 : A Directors Dreams (17 Pages)
Chapter 2 : An Actors Fortitude (15 Pages)
Chapter 3 : A Mothers Truth (14 Pages)
Done. I just need to decide what goe's where art wise, the the cover and in story, hopefully making use of this feature more often.
To be fair I don't use any art in "Shock and Awe" because what I describe would require allot more than what I can offer skill wise, seeing as I used a text-to-image generator mostly in my art, even then the generations per day has been severely limited recently on a pay to do anything scale or tiers.
If anyone is interested in supplying any kind of art for that series or any other, either as cover art or in-story, please let me know, I'm open to solid ideas, based on the material.
Until next time, thank you for your time and patience.
Hi, it's been awhile, I've been hard at work, as a result I finally have the unreviewed versio of Sandman's Promise: Reckoning, part 1, ready to be reviewed, so far it's sitting on forty fours pages I need to go over, it'll likely be four chapters, maybe three depending on spacing, leading up to part to part two. Currently the working title for this part is "Momma Bear", for obvious reasons and as a hint as to what the next title will be for Part 2.
My initial intention was to make it a go for broke sort of wild west anything goes approach, then I realized doing so might dilute the whole thing and I'm basically already playing fast and loose with reality as it is thrugh the "Promise".
This story will link up to the original series, and all the follow ups, including "Traitors Dream", which I realize was not as popular but in my view was both fun to write and a necessary evil in order to link all the stories together and hopefully provide an ending for this whole experience.
I'm very tempted to write a new unrelated story to form the next part of "The Wicked Few" you know and turn each different story line into it's own standalone anthology almost, but I'm already sorta dipping into that pool of inspiration within the Sandman's Promise stories as it is.
In respect to "Shock and Awe", it's still well under way, the rewrites, research for applicable sciences which I will warn anyone whose reading to take with a grain of salt, is honestly draining but altogether fun to do.
Doing both stories at the same time is really the reason behind the long period of non-communication, evne the narrow band of focus I can put myself into is being worn pretty thin.
But yeah, even though it's every taxing I think after this I'll only focus on one story at a time. I can tell you at least that for Shock and Awe at least I've progressed to chapter eight in the series and until I can get the whole chunk of it down and reviewed probably within the space of five whole chapters probably like last time and allign everything with eachother properly so I don't have to keep going back and adjusting everything ever so slightly after they've already been posted. I've got a particular scene in my head planned that will both mark it out as point in time where the smoke has settled to a degree and the characters involved can face both something they've gained and somethign they've lost in the process of their journey so far.
If anyone has any questions as to the content or anything related to it I haven't noted here, please email me or even add your comments to the comment section. I will respond even if it takes time to hear back from me.
Until next time, as always thank you for your time and patience.
