I got reminded that it's been over a month since I posted or updated this blog. I completely agree that it's hard to stay interested in a story that rarely updates and I wish I could update as often as I used to. I am still working on it and I'm about 6700 words into Chapter 6.
I'm posting about once a week on my Patreon in 2k word segments, but, like a lot of people, most of my energy is going into surviving right now.
I wanna see where Ashur and Mera's story goes just as much as you do, so please bear with me.
In the meantime, stay safe and as healthy as possible. This will pass and we'll get out the other side eventually.
Sorry for the long wait guys. I lost a good friend to 2020 and it's taking a bit to get everything back together. I am about halfway through the chapter and hope to get it posted in the next week or so.
Ok guys!
Chapter 5 is done(~18k words) and will be posted at the beginning of next week. If you'd like it a little sooner, you can find it on my Patreon page tomorrow morning.
Thank you for the feedback and comments. I know Chap 4 kinda sucked and I think I'm gonna do a slow rewrite of it while taking mental breaks from current chapters. Hopefully, by the time Chap 15 rolls around, 4 will be something worth reading and I'll repost it.
In the meantime, keep the feedback coming! I know its cliche to say, but it really does help knowing that you guys like this series enough to encourage the good chapters and criticize the bad ones. I'll keep trying to make it worthy.

I've had a couple of comments about how chapter 4 ends at the same place as chapter 3. I was fighting with transitioning to the next major event and the more I wrote, the more it felt like Mera's side of events so far made for less bulky explanations and world-building for the next chapter. This way, Ashur can move forward without bogging the story down.
Chapter 5 will start from the cliffhanger and start things rolling to the next part of their adventures.
I promise!
