I need some help from you that were kind enough to read Falling into Routine. Spanish is scattered throughout the story because it is what is in my head. Does it take you out of the story or give more oomph to the emotions? I try to give enough context that translation isn't needed but I would like some feedback.
Chapter 4 submitted. I intended only 4 chapters to this story but more sappiness forced it's way out. I plan to wrap things up in chapter 5 and start work on a new story. Thanks to everyone that took the time to download my first story.
I have my first week as an SOL author under my belt. I learned a lot on this journey:
1. Writing is not simple, at least for me. The ideas come and go and the editing that goes on in your head!
2. You have to get the hang of the posting process to know what works best. The tools are solid; it is how you want to update your story.
3. The worry and anticipation you go through the get your first score!!! I finally saw a score today and it was a bit of a rollercoaster - why is it so low? why so few votes? what did I do wrong? Once I pulled it together I was proud that my first story landed an average score. My writing does not completely suck and I have the motivation to improve so I get better scores.
4. I am so desperate for feedback. Now that I am going through it as an author, I think I will not be so stingy with feedback on the stories I read. I realize how little feedback and votes I have posted so I cannot be upset that others do the same.
