Whoohoo! I finished my first book. After 30 years of wanting to do this, I did it. I finally got to type "The End" at 1 am this morning. Thanks to all you readers out there for your comments and encouragement. I still have some clean up to do and I'm thinking of getting some additional review and proofreading help, but I should have the Bookapy version out soon. FYI it ended up being 40 chapters and an epilogue, 354 pages and 128,129 words. I will make it available for download as soon as possible for those that would like to read it all at once. I will continue posting the chapters here several times a week as well.

Finally got my son's water leak issue fixed and I'm back at it. Just a hint- there's a lot of foreshadowing in this chapter! I've got 4 to 5 stories blocked out in this universe and this chapter ties into some of them :-)
