I uploaded the remaining five chapters of Leaving Francistown. The entire story is now up on the site.
I also posted the first chapter of a new story today. The story is titled Los Cuatro ("The Four"). Spanish title, yes, but the story is written in English. I plan to post new chapters every other day. As with my previous stories, I've fully written this one at this point, and it's AI-assisted.
Los Cuatro is a tale of four people (an American man and three Mexican-American women) who are abducted by Mexican cartel members from a park in Brownsville, Texas, near the Rio Grande.
The next chapter of Leaving Francistown will go up tomorrow. After that, I plan to speed up the posting process. There will be a new chapter posted every other day. That means the last chapter of the story will go up on 10/5, wrapping that one up.
After that, I've got another story ready to go. I still haven't settled on a title, but it's another inter-cultural romance in the same vein as Leaving Francistown. It's in a very different environment though, and it leans a little more into the thriller category.
Looking further down the road, I have a couple more stories that are close to complete. I might also opt to follow that as-yet-unnamed story with the second book in the Zora's Aurora series (which is partly written at this point).
A general comment... I think I may have erred by posting the first Zora's Aurora story (Glory's Shadow) all at once, rather than chapter by chapter. It has far fewer downloads and votes than my other two stories. (Yes, that's a plug for you to go and check it out.)
With the posting of "Leaving Francistown" underway, I've decided to post another story in its entirety. This one is a little different from the first two stories I've posted, and it's also somewhat shorter. It's a sci-fi detective/mystery story set in the early 23rd century. There are two female protagonists who, besides being PI's, are also musicians. Like the other two stories, it's a no-sex story with AI assistance, although this one has somewhat less help from AI than the others.
I'll post the story (8 chapters) later today. My intent is for it to be the first book in a series with the same characters, in the same universe. The universe will be called Zora's Aurora, and the first book is titled Glory's Shadow.
A few days from now, I plan to post a short summary (just a few pages) of the universe I've created for these stories. It won't be necessary to have read this summary before reading ZA - Glory's Shadow.
You'll see a small flurry of posts from me later today. I've decided to post the remainder of "Echoes of the Empty Earth" (chapters 10 through 12, plus an epilogue) now, and move that story to Completed status. The rest of the story should be up soon.
Admittedly, I'm doing this because I'm anxious to start posting the next story in the pipeline. It's called "Leaving Francistown". It's a simple present-day romance that's set in a location many readers may not know much about. It has cross-cultural issues that are more pronounced than those found in "Echoes of the Empty Earth". It has the No Sex code and also the Slow code. In this case, a Slooooow code might be more appropriate. The romance aspect is very slow to develop, for reasons that will become apparent.
Because of that, I plan to post the first three chapters of the new story today. The story is somewhat longer than its predecessor - 21 chapters total. My intent for now is to post chapter 4 on Wednesday, and then follow a twice-a-week posting schedule with new chapters going up on Wednesdays and Sundays. Also, like its predecessor, the story contains some AI-generated content and will also have the "AI Generated" tag, although much of the writing is my own.
I've finished writing "Leaving Francistown", so it's just a matter of posting the chapters. I do reserve the right to speed up the posting schedule later.
I've just posted Chapter 1 of a new story. The story is 12 chapters long, plus an epilogue. I plan to post new chapters twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays. The story is fully written, so there should not be any delays.
Full disclosure here: I've assigned the "AI Generated" tag, as it does contain AI-generated content. That said, much of the writing is my own - it's probably better to describe it as "partially AI generated" or "AI enhanced". I've gone over the AI-generated sections and edited out all of the errors that AI-generated content seems to always have - repetition, logic inconsistencies, et cetera. Hopefully, the final product is one that is worth reading. I believe it's an interesting story.
I have a few other similar stories that are nearly complete. I plan to post them one by one, following EEE. These stories will have similar themes: romance, little or no sex, usually having a cross-cultural aspect.
