I'm enjoying writing the Jessica character, so I've come up with another one.
This story appeared while I was listening to an audio book, one of Lawrence Block's Bernie Rhodenbarr stories, The Burglar in the Library.
The book's setting in an English style hotel prompted the location for my new story, but the actual origin of story comes from a line in the book, where someone asks if Sherry Trifle is a person or a dessert, and then they muse about a typical fresh faced English girl.

So Sherry Trifle is the main character (apart from Jessica) and over the weekend I wove a story around her.

OK, time to apologise to all the Pictures of Lucy fans.

I've not touched this story for a couple of years, and in the meantime I've written and published about a dozen new stories, and self published a couple of mainstream novels on Amazon.

Lucy and Gabbie's story ran away from me, moving a long, long way from its original storyline into a dark area of abuse and magic.
I also got a lot of shit from some readers who felt I'd done Steve a disservice, which put me off the story a little.

Anyway, my decks are clear for a while, so I'm picking up Pictures of Lucy.
I need to read it all first, to get the story back into context in my head, then I'll write the final 5 or 6 chapters.

In the meantime, I've added a proper cover to the story, ChatGPT's idea of what Lucy and Gabbie look like.

And in a turn up for the books, two stories posted in 24 hours!
This quick and dirty tale appeared almost fully formed as I was walking to the library.
It's another female led first-person POV story, I think I'll try a few more of these.

Jessica has a job to do, but until the job arrives, she's forced to lie in the sun drinking cocktails
It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it...

You can tell I've had some time off work over Easter, I finished one story and wrote a whole new one.

Alice has a minor accident falling as she steps off the bus, then falls for 15-year-old Dexter as he nurses her poorly ankle.

I enjoyed writing a female led first-person story, I might do some more.
