Hi, readers,

I started this year with the hope I'd be able to keep writing on a schedule and posting every week. I wasn't very sure I would manage, but to my surprise it has been happening so far. Two Diaries has been getting posted on the clock, as well as the odd little thing here and there, like a chapter for The Road to Serfdom in January, and a little short thing called I Owe You One that should be about to come out any time.

Responses for Diaries have been really positive, way beyond what I was hoping: downloads, scores, and very especially story comments and feedback have been great. Posting regularly appears to have got me regular readers, too. People have commented and sent me very nice things about this story. To everyone who has, thanks!

So, the next update on the schedule is on 2019-04-01 (1st of April). Chapter 13 is going to be posted then, but I've been wondering whether to have something else as an April special thing.

Things I've been pondering to have:

1. A possible future involving Fiona letting Aideen play with Amanda during the summer.
2. A weird resolution to the Jimmy and Kira part of the story.
3. Some more about Amanda's childhood with Clara, Stella and Alba, and her grandmother.
4. The story of Fiona and Syl before Amanda joined that school.
5. Kira and Fiona before Kira's father was out of the picture.
6. That night when Kira got to play with Fiona.
7. Something else?

The likely length of the interlude would be about 5k words (not a really long chapter). It also wouldn't necessarily be canon (i.e., I'm not committing to incorporate this interlude into the main plot of Diaries). It would be something for fun, and if I end up liking it, well, I could always keep it in.

So, if anyone has any feelings about whether I should do this, which of these ideas they like best, or something else that they would enjoy as an interlude, and if they could say so by the weekend... we'll see what we can manage.

Happy to confirm that chapter 9 of Two Diaries has been finished. That gives me a bit more than two weeks to write 10. 8 will go out on schedule, and so will 9.

These two chapters are very long and rather intense. I'm hoping to dial down the length a little and hopefully get more light-hearted and fun, too, within the demands of the plot. It took me a lot of effort to finish these two, which is why I was worried about being able to keep to the schedule. Mission accomplished though.

I thought I'd let you know how Two Diaries is going.

First off, I'd like to say I got some nice feedback on this one, as well as my first public comments. So it seems some people are enjoying it quite a lot, which is great.

Tomorrow, as per my usual weekly schedule, chapter 7 is coming out. After that, chapter 8 will come out on schedule. And chapter 9?

Well, chapter 8 turned out... extremely intense, as well as very hard to write. It was difficult thematically, and it's about 10k words long (much larger than the typical chapter of this story).

So what's happening with chapter 9? I'm writing it, that's what. I've got about half of it finished, and my hope is that, by the time it needs to be posted, given the schedule, I will have finished it, and the next one. But that's hope speaking. At the moment I'm 4800 words in, out of what I estimate will end up around 8-9k. Possibly another 10k.

I still have two weeks to finish this. I'm just letting you know while I started out with a very significant leeway (I wrote a lot of this story before I posted the first chapter), some of it has been eaten away. I will do my best to keep to the schedule, but some of these chapters are proving harder to write than I was counting on.

Still, I consider it most likely that chapter 9 will come on schedule. If it doesn't, you can set Eve on me.

I made a new year's resolution to post more regularly. Specifically, to post something every week until I finished my ongoing stories.

So how's that been going?

Pretty well, actually. More specifically, I got out two chapters of The Road to Serfdom, which I'm fairly satisfied about, and four chapters of Two Diaries. I'm finding Diaries a little easier to write at the moment (I've finished chapter 7 and am halfway through 8), so I expect I will be able to keep in compliance to my resolution for at least one more month, and hopefully by then I'll have one or two chapters of Road simmering. I can also say my estimate for Diaries having ten chapters was low. I managed to outline the remainder of it, and work out a satisfying ending for it, and there's still quite a bit left. Twenty chapters doesn't seem unlikely to me at the moment.

I've been wondering if Diaries is well classified as young adult. Other possibilities that come to mind would include coming of age, romance, or possibly BDSM (though I think it doesn't have enough of an edge for that). Given it deals with themes like bullying, confusion, and the ambiguities of friendship, it seemed like a good idea.

At any rate, I'm very happy with my writing flowing again with more regularity, and hopefully the people who enjoy my stories like that too.

I've been working on a new story called Two Diaries. For now, only chapter 1 is out, and I'm perhaps not the best at beginnings, but chapter 2 has been queued for next Monday. I've already written chapters 3 and 4 and they will be published on a weekly basis. I expect the story will have about 10 chapters altogether.

So what is it about? Without spoilers, Amanda is a small, quiet, shy girl who's recently changed schools. She meets Fiona, an athletic, rich, popular girl. Fiona has an arrogant, dominant streak, and decides to befriend Amanda, as she finds her vulnerable and desirable. She has always wanted to have a compliant girlfriend whom she can boss around and take care of. Amanda finds Fiona very attractive, and the thought of submitting to her excites and confuses her. They have an intense time getting to know each other, and trying to make things work out in spite of their differences.

Fiona is not a sadist. She likes teasing, and maybe humiliating Amanda a little, but she is more into psychological dominance and has a very strong desire to protect Amanda. So don't expect the type of story where the bossy, spoiled girl destroys her submissive friend. It's a sweeter, more romantic relationship in spite of the power imbalance.

There's a lot of foot fetish content in this story as this is one of Fiona's favourite ways to tease and dominate. I won't say you can't enjoy it if you don't like feet, but it will definitely help.
