I've been posting chapters of Lady in Red for some time now. I have lost more than a few of the readers that began the journey with me. The readers that are left have been very encouraging. I try to post every week, but stuff happens now and then. I thank those that write to tell me that they enjoy the story and that they look for the next chapter. It isn't Pulitzer material. It's just a simple story.
I have to express my appreciation to writers that are able to post chapters to a story (like Lady in Red) week in and week out. It sure isn't easy finding time and keeping the juices flowing. I watch the numbers to see if I'm losing readers and how the score is going. I get a few emails that beg me to drop dead, that the story sucks, and cannot possibly happen. That's what I call fiction. Then a few feedback messages show up telling me how much the reader is enjoying the story and I feel like it's all worth the effort. This isn't Shakespeare. It's just a fun story with characters able to do many of the things I can't, but would love to master some day. It isn't complicated. It's simply meant to entertain. Thanks to those that take the time to read, vote, and supply feedback.
Once again, Lit has rejected a chapter in Lady In Red. It's the chapter about the state football game. The reason was once again underage sex. This all stumps the hell out of me since there is no sex of any age in the chapter. Do the editors actually read the stories? I reposted the chapter along with a nasty diatribe to the editor, or story selector or whatever they are..
Lit has finally relented and posted my "Lady in Red" story. It seems to be going over like a turd in the punch bowl. Actually, it isn't that bad, but after posting in Loving Wives most the time, everything else is tame, and the scores are higher. I can get more views in three days in Loving Wives than in 3 weeks in most other categories. I have been pleased with the reception my story has received on SOL and thank those that like inane little stories about adventure, honor, romance, power, and maybe a tiny bit of sex. There are a lot of pretty girls, however. Thanks again to those that take the time.
I usually post on a couple sites. The first chapter of my story "Lady in Red" has been rejected twice by Lit for, now get this, underage sex! There is no sex in the first chapter, or the next eight, and when the story finally gets to it, all participants will be at least 18! I am just venting here. Thanks.
