More delays then I would ever think possible. But I have just uploaded about 15 pages into chapter 8. So yeah, still progress, I haven't ground to a halt yet.
Chapter seven is completed and posted / awaiting approval. I spent three days hammering out the last few dozen pages (yes, its a large update) and then promptly died. I planned to take a bit of a break to properly plan the next chapter, but between the time it took my editor to get the parts back to me, which is still impressively quick in my opinion, and dealing with all the things life has been using lately to squash what remains of my soul, I feel I have had no time.
Despite life, I have still managed to finish all the planning for Chapter 8 and even rolled a bit into the planning for Chapter 9, the final chapter. That's right, only two chapters left. I can actually see the end in sight of this project and I am excited to get rolling on it. Hopefully I should have the beginning few pages of ch9 in a couple weeks.
Chapter 6 is officially over!!! Yay!!! Why is that chapter encompassing just a couple days but is 48 pages long? Because as minor as a lot seems there is a bunch of important information in there, like seriously, pick a paragraph and I can point it to a future or past (or future-past) event. Super exhausting and I'm super excited to get on with next chapter which should be shorter and more concise.
It has been to long now; between work beating me down and life in general getting in my way I have had almost no time to write. Although I have been able to put up a late but reasonably large update. I'm also trying to get back on track in my writing schedule so that, at the very least, I can finish this project. Although I don't think that will be to soon, still got a long way to go with WTYD.
(Note: I had a problem with chapter 6 and I'm not sure how long it's existed, so if 6 seemed disjointed and broken, that's because it was, pieces were missing and out of order, please read it again now that it's back together properly.)
Although, in other news I have a couple decent side projects I'm excited about that are filling the times my brain can't work on WTYD. In the future expect to see "A Leap in the Dark," a dry romantic comedy in a near future hard sci-fi setting and "3/A/M," a psychological horror/thriller set in a Gibson style cyberpunk world.
Let me know which one of those you would rather see out first. As they are both short stories I want to complete them instead of posting them as serials.
Thanks for reading.
Life hasn't slowed down as expected.
But, thanks in part to my editor, I have a big 8 page update added to chapter six and a few more pages already in the work.
I'm still working on this fast as I can, although I feel bad I haven't been able to stick to a schedule.
