I have submitted the first of four segments of a new story for posting. This one has been in the queue for a while. Some credit goes to Bob W. for his editing suggestions, but since I made changes after his cogent suggestions, any mistakes are mine alone. As always, I welcome constructive criticism.
I have a new story almost ready to post. I would like to have it proof-read before posting if I can find a volunteer who can commit to a timely response. There are six sections though I intend to post four chapters. The first chapter will include the prologue and the last chapter will include the epilogue. Please let me know whether you might be interested. I write in MS Word because I like the editing features and it is used by many even those (like myself) who are not Microsoft fans. This is a "coming of age" story featuring sex among teenagers and with an adult.
I want to thank all the readers who gave me positive feedback on Unexpected Consequences. Most of you encouraged me to write a sequel. I would like to do that, but please don't expect to see it soon. I have a few other projects in progress, one of which is in edit. Moreover, I put considerable effort into writing so it takes me a long time to become satisfied that a story is ready to share. Please be patient.
I have submitted the final two chapters of "Unexpected Consequences." Thanks to all who sent comments. The majority were positive but I welcome all comments because I can learn from criticism as well as from praise.
One of the most interesting aspects to me is the way that readers react to the characters in a story (not only my own stories judging from comments I have read on other sites). The characters are what they are, the results of the writer's imagination.
I find my characters often develop in directions that I did not anticipate. Certainly plots often develop in unexpected directions, especially for longer stories. My characters are based on my perceptions of the people I have met and interacted with over the past 60+ years as well as the fiction I have read. Nevertheless, the characters are all fictional. One may decide whether they are good, bad or indifferent as portrayed, but they are not real. I often marvel at people who react to characters in print or film stories as if they were real people.
I am more concerned with whether I have portrayed believable characters than with my readers' moral judgements of them.
I have submitted the first two chapters of "Unexpected Consequences," a new story that is quite a bit longer than my previous posts. I will submit two chapters a day until the complete story has been submitted. This is actually one of the first erotic stories I wrote. As always, I welcome feedback. In particular, I would like to know whether my readers like serial stories or prefer the complete package in one post.
