Finished!

...and this time I'll try to be more accurate with my selection of words of this blog entry so that no innocent minds will get hurt with my misuse of English language. Being non-native writer I'll probably fail, again.

So, after writing 709k worth of stuff that probably never will get published - with an apology to all my editors - I finally have my next story ready for editing. 125'000+ words, 270+ pages in Word format - book 1 out of 3. Sort of a fantasy story.

I'll check my regular editors if they are still available and can tolerate my numerous mistakes. If not, then there may be a request for help coming.

However, I do feel obliged to apologize one reader that I trusted page http://dictionary.cambridge.org while writing my previous, now deleted blog entry:
"character noun (MARK)
C1 [ C ] a letter, number, or other mark or sign used in writing or printing, or the space one of these takes:
a string of characters (= a line of marks)
The address was written in Chinese/Japanese characters (= systems of writing).
The computer screen on this laptop is 66 characters (= spaces) wide."

Delays in posting

I had supposed that I'd be posting something new already now - but sorry, that's not going to happen. After some discussions with my final editor I decided that I'll not post my latest story which would have been a multi-part story of which 'Book I' was now finished. Once the decision was made I surprisingly felt relieved instead of disappointed and after a moment of confusion I understood also the difficulties I had had writing 'Book II'. I hadn't been really happy with the story myself and I had found all kinds of excuses/other ideas that had lengthened the writing process. Once the main story had been abandoned I once again felt free to write something new, something different.

Right now it seems that my next story will contain some fantasy elements and after that there may be some stories in 'Once Upon a Time in Finland' -universe. Maybe. At least I'm writing again - and I want to write.

'After Five Years' finished last Sunday

It is now out there, my fourth finished story - since 'His Halloween Trick' was written well after this one - even if it was posted earlier. Moreover, 'AFY' was the first one of my stories that I had fully outlined before writing it. Not really a merit, I know. Of course the final outcome was somewhat different than the original idea but that kind of things just happen - at least to me. Also, I understand now that because of the structure of the story I should have posted 'AFY' on daily basis. Something to consider in the future.

Now there will be a longer break before anything new will come out. I haven't run out of ideas - but time. Another issue is with the two recent ideas that I have: 'The Collateral Damage' -trilogy (book one finished, book two almost there, book three only outlined) - and another (fantasy) series, The 'Hidden Heritage' from which the first book is fully outlined. The only problem is that I've promised that I'll not post stories until I've finished writing them... Maybe I could post books I and II even if book III is not finished, maybe?

So, it seems that you cannot get rid of me if only my editors can bear with me - and I can find some time to this secret hobby.

'After Five Years' almost there

After today's post there are two chapters left so the last post will be out on Sunday. Great thanks to all my editors who were the ones to make sure that my text is readable (unlike my blogs). I also want to thank all my readers who have been sending me some positive feedback. That story is my fourth finished one ever and the first one to which I really put some external effort instead of just writing it out.

Once the story is finished there will be a longer break before there will be any new stories since right now I have run out of finished and edited stories.

Thank you!

Over 500'000 downloads, almost 6000 votes and over 2000 library entries. So, thanks!

By figures this would mean that almost one Finn out of ten had once downloaded something from me, right ;-? Well, maybe not. The most popular books here sell between 50'000 to 100'000 copies. In Finnish. So, no need to talk to the media yet.

But I have to admit those figures make you humble. Even if I write what I want, the way I want and from about the topics I want it does not change the fact that without readers there wouldn't be any reason to publish my stories. So, thank you for reading, voting and commenting.
