An old English saying dating from the 1720s, "it never rains, it pours", means if you suffer one misfortune you're often beset by a series of disasters. This saying was adapted in a 1914 US advertise for a company selling salt so well packaged that the salt would never get wet and clog, hence the slogan "When it rains, it pours". Everybody gets those times when everything goes wrong, only I've notched it up to "When it Snows". Lots of profanity and healthy sex between wrinklies.
A misunderstanding leads to estrangement, a wedding leads to reconciliation. This story was written 5 years ago as a challenge to take the opening and closing words of a chapter in a classic book and fill in with a unique story. At a request from a reader I am reposting it here. I suppose it could be termed an unusual romance.
In a mid-1930s London suburb, as storm clouds rise over the growing militaristic resurgence in Germany, a window cleaner shows his young son the ropes of his business and reminisces in thoughts and conversations about the Great War.

A story in the Legends of Ireland Universe
The Mountain of Slievenamon in County Tipperary is known as the 'Mountain of the women', and viewed from a distance looks like a shapely woman lying in repose. The mountain features much in Irish legends with many burial cairns and around 4 portals purported to lead to and from the Otherworld. This gentle, lightly humorous contemporary romance includes fantasy elements of Irish history, legend, and modern life. / (Reviews)
