These stories tell of the trials and triumphs of Ellen and her young son Charlie as the single mom guides him from puberty through his early married life. She calmly guides him through his early years of adolescent interest in the contents of her lingerie drawer and the meaning of sensual love. She contrives her own ways of undressing for men, separately from her husband's plans.
