Arty: Stories

I should apologise to Richard Curtis for borrowing the idea for the first part of this work from a story-strand of his film 'Love Actually'.

The blackness was complete. Somehow I wasn't afraid, though I felt that I ought to be. I just couldn't manage it. It was odd. I wondered where I was; the last time I had been in this sort of situation had been once in a sensory deprivation chamber. Perhaps that's where I was. I tried to remember how I had come to be here. Nothing. I couldn't remember anything. I felt fear then, but it was distant, a small thing, inconsequential...

Sometimes I have regrets. I travel a lot on trains. I like old films. Occasionally it all comes together.

I couldn't let Valentine's Day go by without marking it in someway.

Girl Friday wrote a story for my birthday, 'Modern Day Fairy Tale'. You can read it here on StoriesOnline. It is a lovely story and others felt so too because it was voted the winner of a Silver Clit for March. I wondered what it would be like to see things from another point of view and this is the result.

A certain author of our aquaintance, Girl Friday, has been moonlighting as a Muse, here are the results. They are a series of short stories all linked by the presence of someone special...

Over in FDWritings someone suggested a Hallowe'en story fest. This is my humble offering.

It's Friday's birthday on the 5th February and I've been listening to Boyzone singing this song. Ever since the Song Story Fest in FKWLounge I've been considering every song I heard as inspiration for a story. It's almost cheating to use this one. Anyhow it's dedicated to the birthday girl.

Andy was Private Investigator. He was also a man with a secret. A secret that was poisoning the best thing that had ever happened to him. What was going to happen when the girl of his dreams found out what he was hiding from her? Would their relationship survive?

What happens when 'The Program' comes to the UK? My usual romantic stuff, of course.
