Prologue

Time Frame Week 0 News flash broadcast on Monday at 9:27: This is Mark Houston of KKPZ-TV in downtown Philadelphia. Less than thirty minutes ago, a large explosion rocked the downtown area of Philadelphia.

From our position over two blocks away from the blast, we can see emergency equipment still fighting the fire and rendering aid to those hurt in the explosion.

Shattered glass from windows litters the sidewalks starting in the next block and police and other emergency personal are going door-to-door checking on the local residences.

At this point, little is known about the cause of the explosion but more than a dozen people have been injured or killed in the blast. Initial reports from witnesses stated that the explosion originated from a row house in the 300 block of 12th Street.

Detective Washborne stated they would be releasing an official statement at noon. Other than that, he has refused to speculate or comment on the nature of the explosion...

Local hospital emergency room:

"This patient is an unconscious approximately 30 year old male with a sever head wound and multiple shrapnel wounds to the back." reported the EMT.

Looking the patient over quickly and then studying his eyes a bit the doctor said,

"Let's get a series of x-rays of his back and head stat, and then get him to the OR. When they are finished with him in OR, have an EEG run and a MRI of his head."
