LeAnne and I met the next morning for what was to be our last official breakfast together. I admit I was having a tough time keeping my fondness for her from interfering in what I knew was best. In LeAnne's case, the best was for her to go out and discover what she wanted for herself instead of depending on me to guide her any longer.

She, of course, had other ideas, insisting that she immediately start the physical conditioning my mother had undergone. And I strongly considered extending our time together by putting her through the conditioning myself. The problem was, she really was starting to depend on me more than she should, and I guess that scared me a bit. Mostly because I was starting to enjoy having control over her like that.

I was so occupied by this conflict inside me, I didn't even consider what her true motives were when she excused herself to go to the restroom. After spending ten minutes sitting at the table by myself, I suddenly realized she had gone after one of the seven men I had noticed her picking out when we had arrived.

I hurried to the restrooms, then followed the muffled moans to the employees only door. I took a deep breath and walked into the back room. LeAnne was on her hands and knees as one guy fucked her ass, another sucked her out, and a third was fucking her mouth like a maniac.

LeAnne suddenly found her three partners leaving her there without finishing their job. But just as she started to say something to them, she noticed me standing by the door with a dark look on my face.

"Why did you stop them?!" she cried.

"Because you're endangering your own life by doing it that way," I said. "Now, come on. Get dressed so we can go back to school."

"NO!" she said, suddenly stubborn. "You said you don't want me to depend on you for sex, but the first time I fuck someone you didn't pick out yourself, you stop me! Bring them back, or so help me I'll... "

"Let me tell you something you obviously haven't thought of," I said feeling a little angry at her demand. "Everyone I had you fuck, suck, or lick was first tested THREE times for every testable disease. I even had that guy you sucked in that bathroom checked out, along with the shoe salesman you fucked in the parking lot of the mall. And right now, those three are having their blood, urine, saliva, and semen taken by the nurse I've had here every morning just in case we needed her.

"I didn't tell you about this shit because I didn't want to discourage you with it while you were going through your training. But now it looks like you need some discouraging. You just can't fuck every person who responds to your questioning look. Now, get your fucking clothes on and let's get out of here!"

LeAnne was pretty quiet while I drove us back towards school. And then she didn't even say a word when I passed right by the school and headed to the highway. I was feeling kind of bad for speaking to her like that, and despite everything I had told her, and myself, my desire to have one last roll in the hay with her was starting to get to me.

We were on the road for nearly an hour before she sighed and gave up on winning the silence contest.

"Tim? I'm sorry," she said softly. "I thought you would have wanted me taking the first opportunity to find someone on my own to fuck like a slut. I haven't thought about the dangers involved since we started all this."

"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry too. I guess I sorta wanted you to screw up this way so it would be easier to let you go. You didn't do anything I didn't expect you to do, just a little sooner than I had thought."

A few minutes of silence went by before she said, "Do you... love me?"

My eyes got a little watery as I stared straight ahead at the road wishing she hadn't asked me that. I had to blink a few times when I realized we were approaching the exit we needed to take.

"Yeah," was all I could say as we slowed down at the intersection at the end of the exit ramp. The country road we got on had freshly tilled fields as the farmers prepared the land for the spring planting. But the farther we were from the highway, the wilder the land became until we were driving between tall leafless trees.

Fifteen or so minutes after we had passed the last signs of civilization, LeAnne cleared her throat and said, "The day before yesterday, I would have given anything to hear you admit that, but now I'm... indifferent about it. I know you did something to make me this way, and I somewhat suspect how. But what I don't understand at all is, why?"

I put the blinker on and turned onto a barely visible dirt road leading into the dense trees. LeAnne's attention was temporarily diverted to the place I was taking her, allowing me a few moments to reflect on what to tell her. But since I hadn't given much thought about the condition of the road through the trees, I found myself gritting my teeth as the overgrown branches began scraping against the shiny red paint of my car.

Once we had gotten passed the outer edge of the woods, I was relieved to find the interior to be fairly clear of low branches. However, the road hadn't been used for over ten years, and we didn't get very far before the way was blocked by a fallen tree.

"Where are we going, anyway?" LeAnne finally asked as I shut the engine off.

I looked at her, then found myself feeling rather romantic as a peaceful silence settled in my ears. There was nothing moving except the changing patterns of light on floor of the woods, and since there was nothing to hear but a small breeze moving outside the car, her soft breathing was clearly audible before I gave her a kiss on the lips.

Her response was that of a well-trained slut, and not the loving embrace I had expected. I also noticed the scent of the cock that had been fucking her mouth, and that finished spoiling my romantic mood.

I broke the tongue-fucking kiss and sat back in my seat, then had to stop LeAnne's hand as it reached for my crotch.

"The reason I put a damper on your feelings for me was so we wouldn't wind up with our hearts broken when it came time for you to leave. But... Damn it... "

I took a moment to get a hold of myself, then said, "This road leads to the house my mother grew up in. After my grandmother died and my grandfather left to live on an island in the Pacific, my mom built and stored the equipment here that you're going to need. This is the first time I've been here since I was really little and I don't really remember anything about the place. But my mom checked on it about five years ago and everything was still intact back then. We're here to get the stuff you need... But I was considering... No... never mind." I said opening the car door.

"What?" she said, grabbing my arm and preventing me from getting out.

LeAnne had the softness in her eyes that I hadn't seen since before I had masked her feelings towards me. I hadn't considered spending enough time with her for her to form new ones, and hadn't made any allowances for that. I could sense the quick patch I had used on her feelings was about to come undone. So I smiled at her and kissed the hand she had grabbed me with, then told her "I wanted to make love to you one last time."

I was out of the car in a flash when the last stitch broke and she felt her true feelings rush forth. I ran up the road a little, giving me enough time to check on the test results for the three guys she had seduced, finding nothing that a dose of penicillin wouldn't cure.

I sensed her trying to sneak up on me, so I said, "The house should be just over that hill. My mom said there's a pretty good chance the roof has fallen in by now, but the equipment should still be safe and dry locked up in the food pantry in the cellar."

"I'm sure it is," she said in my right ear before giving me a peck on the cheek.

When she didn't move away after she finished her kiss, I turned my head to meet her lips like she expected. This time I felt those intimate and loving touches that had been missing from that earlier kiss in the car. I don't know who melted in whose arms first, but once we were fully entwined, we slowly sank down to the leaf covered ground and shared in our need for each other's touch.

Our exchange of passion began tapering off when there wasn't anything left to do without undoing or removing someone's clothing. We made an unspoken agreement to first retrieve the equipment before taking each other's naked bodies in our arms.

We held hands as we walked up the small rise that hid the house from our sight. I suddenly recognized a rock my mother had told me about, and while I was kneeling down examining the oddity, I felt LeAnne looking at me intensely. She was seeing a part of me she had never noticed before. Something which can't be seen with your eyes, just with your heart.

I put my arm around her when she kneeled down beside me to see what I was looking at. The weathered rock strongly resembled a four leaf clover, and had been the object of several stories my mom had told me about my grandparents. I faintly remember having seen one of those rocks when I was really little, but hadn't recalled anything about it until I was looking at the small green crystals which gave the rock its slightly greenish color.

"My grandmother used to tell my mom that our family would never have bad luck because even the stones on our land were good luck. There's two more of these somewhere around here. My grandmother would never let my mom or my grandfather dig them up to bring closer to the house. She was a pretty superstitious woman, but in a good way, I guess."

"I take it you're thinking of taking it back with you though," LeAnne correctly analyzed. "The green crystals must be tiny emeralds. I don't think this stone could have formed naturally, but it still might be worth something."

"Well, I wasn't going to try and sell it anyway. And I'm not going to take it. It would almost feel like robbing my grandmother's grave or something. But I might just come back in a couple of days to take a picture of it."

We stood back up and went back to the road. LeAnne stated it was a wonder I had seen it in the first place, and as I looked back towards where I thought we had just come from, I was surprised to see what she meant.

I spent a good ten minutes looking for it without any success. I finally shrugged my shoulders and joined her back on the road, saying, "Well, I guess it _was_ just luck when I saw it."

"Maybe your grandmother knew something we don't." LeAnne said with an amused smile. "Do you think your mother knows where... "

We both were startled when we heard a door slamming and someone's voice coming from over the hill. LeAnne and I exchanged looks of anxiety, then took off towards the crest of the hill.

"Holy shit," I whispered when the house came into view. Not only was the roof still up, but one side of the house had been added on to, giving the ground floor nearly a third more floor space.

We heard someone on the other side of the house calling for someone else, and without a moment's hesitation I reached out to scan their mind.

"Yuch," I said, feeling as if I had just swallowed something nasty.

"What's wrong?" LeAnne said.

"She's fucking high on the shit they cook up in the house. Shit, I'm getting sick just from looking in her head."

"I thought you could read minds," LeAnne said, sounding very proud of herself.

"Yeah, I can read them. And change them too. But right now I wish I hadn't read hers. She's so out of it, she's calling for her cat."

"What's so strange about that?"

"As far as I can tell, she was twelve years old when it disappeared, and that was about twenty years ago. Shit. She just took another hit. I'm definitely going to be sick."

I stopped my probing and we waited a little while until LeAnne announced I wasn't looking green any longer. Then I did a quick feel for the woman, and came across her husband working inside the house.

"Hey, LeAnne. You remember the guy who built the concession shack for the football field stadium last year?"

"I think so, yes. Mr. Peterson asked the student counsel if we could help pay for it, and since I was the treasurer, I wanted to know exactly what we were spending the money on. I spent two days after school getting that guy straightened out about the design. I have to admit he built it faster than I thought was possible, but he couldn't design anything worth a darn."

"Well, it looks like he did okay adding on to the house. And I think if you hadn't gone over the plans he had made up, the concession stand would have had customers during the day too."

"I see. What do you want to do? I suggest we go back to your car and find a phone to call the police."

"Not yet. We're here for a reason, remember? Actually, we're here for a couple of reasons. And I want to see what they've done to the place before the police go through it and rip everything out. I've already taken care of our carpenter friend, and if I have to, I can send the woman into dreamland too. I don't feel anyone else around us for miles."

So we started our way down the steep incline, keeping our eyes and ears open for signs of the woman. It wasn't until we were nearing the house that I felt the presence of several others coming up from the cellar.

"Shit," I said quietly as I pulled LeAnne over to the wall of the house. Three women and two men walked right by the window next to us, talking very loudly and somewhat incoherently.

"What's the matter?" LeAnne whispered. "And where did they come from?"

"They all just got finished sampling their latest batch in the cellar. I don't understand why I didn't feel them down there. Maybe we should go get the police after all. I'm not feeling up to making contact with all five of their minds. I'm feeling a bit light headed right now from the little bit I just did."

Just as we were about to try and leave, three more men came up out of the cellar and stood by the window talking excitedly. For some reason the cellar had shielded their presence from my scans, and I wondered how my mother hadn't remembered anything about that unique feature of her childhood home.

We heard the door slam again as the first group left the house. We couldn't go back the way we came without the men at the window seeing us, and the voices from around the corner were getting louder. I was forming a blanket sleep command while praying it wouldn't cause me to toss the french toast sticks I had eaten for breakfast.

But then LeAnne tugged my arm to follow her, and led us away from the loud group who had apparently just come out for some fresh air. LeAnne jumped when she turned the corner, but then after standing very still a moment, she motioned for me to follow her again.

I was surprised to find the cat calling woman sitting on her head with her butt in the air, smiling at us from between her legs no more than ten feet away. Her eyes were dilated, and she seemed unaware of our presence even though she was looking straight at us. Her eyes didn't even follow us as we carefully crept past her, and if I hadn't been able to see her breathing, I would have thought she was dead.

Just as we got past the woman's empty gaze, I had a flashback of one of my mother's descriptions of the house.

"LeAnne," I thought to her, "You see the tall weeds behind her? There's a small wood door behind them that leads down to the cellar. If we can get it open, we can find out if they messed with the equipment or not. I'm pretty sure I know where the pantry is in relation to where that... "

"Colleen!!" someone cried from the front of the house. "Colleen!! Something's wrong with Richard!"

LeAnne and I looked at each other before scrambling over to the hidden wooden door. To our dismay, it was padlocked and apparently nailed shut, but when I leaned against it to adjust my position, my hand went right through the rotten wood. We heard someone coming, so without any further hesitation, I knocked the rest of it out, then watched as LeAnne disappeared down the dark hole.

"Colleen, snap out of it girl!" a woman's voice said practically next to me. She had startled me so much I instantly jumped through the hole, somehow managing to slip through it without touching the sides or making a sound. Or at least not until I knocked LeAnne back on her ass when I hit the dirt floor.

We kept very still, straining our ears to catch any signs of pursuit. But after several minutes of only hearing our hearts pounding, LeAnne sighed and whispered, "In case you haven't noticed, there's nothing to stand on to get back out that way."

"We'll think of something," I said taking my surroundings in a little more.

I quickly realized I had no idea where the food pantry was. Where I had expected an open space to be, there was a wall. The pantry should have been just on the other side of that open space.

"This wall is new," I said thinking out loud. "The pantry should be on the other side of it. Come on. Looks like there's a way through over here."

The passage we entered was shrouded in complete darkness, so we were feeling our way around blindly when I ran into a hollow wooden wall.

"Shit," I softly exclaimed. "I got a splinter... on my fuckin' nose."

"Stop worrying about your nose. No one will notice another red spot with all those zits," LeAnne teased. "Come over here. I can see some light ahead."

I felt my way around the offending wooden wall, and saw a trace of light around another corner. As we made our way closer to the source of the light, the strange odor we had been getting traces of ever since we entered the cellar was getting stronger.

LeAnne made a "pssst" sound, drawing my attention to the stairs beside us on our left. But she also drew my attention to the strange silence we had been walking around in. Ever since we had entered the cellar, we hadn't heard a single sound from the house above. And there was this steady hum which had a whispery sound to it, just loud enough to hide our own movements from us, yet wasn't loud enough to hide anything else.

The dim light came from a door slightly ajar and was just barely detectable by our eyes. We approached it very carefully, finding the background noises came from behind the door.

The sound and light got stronger as LeAnne pushed the heavy but well hung door, relieving the strain on my eyes when I could see more than just vague shapes.

"Look at this," LeAnne said, entering the room.

I followed her inside, finding the source of our light coming from the five huge coffee machines' glowing switches. Or at least they first appeared to be coffee machines, but once I took a closer look at them, they were far more complicated, and no coffee machine ever made swooshing noises like what was coming from them.

"Man it stinks in here," I said before climbing up on a chair and lifting the lid on one. As the seal on the top released with a "ssssop", I was hit in the face by a cloud of odorous steam. I totally forgot all about looking inside as a wonderful warm sensation started spreading through my body.

"Tim? What's wrong?"

"Nothin's wong," I said, finding myself becoming as light as a feather. "Everythins fine. See?" I sang as I gently pushed off the chair to float gently down to the ground like a leaf off a tree.

More like a rock off a cliff. I crashed into the hard floor, and it took several minutes for me to unscramble my senses and spit out the dirt in my mouth. The room was still spinning around me when suddenly light flooded in through the half open door.

I couldn't understand what LeAnne was trying to silently say, but had enough sense to stay quiet while she started pulling me by my limp arms. I tried to help by attempting to get up on my feet, but I didn't get half way up before I kissed the dirt floor again.

I heard men's voices, and LeAnne was frantically trying to get me to move. I struggled to my hands and knees and managed to half crawl as she half dragged me to the corner under the table next to the door.

LeAnne was one sharp cookie, that's for sure. No sooner than I crawled under the table next to her, the door was flung open the rest of the way, blocking our hiding place from view.

"Shit, it smells in here!" a man said as he uncovered four full plastic milk cartons.

"Come on," another man's voice said as he took two of them. "By the time they get back, the stuff will be ready and the room won't smell so bad. They won't even know we had cooked up some more and took the first batch with us."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. I guess its lucky for us Richard knocked himself out like that. I don't know how we would have sneak this much out if everyone hadn't left with them. But I still don't get why he runs these things in this hole where there isn't any fresh air. You know how strong that stuff can get down here."

They shut the door, chatting about the smell some more as they went back upstairs. The light coming from under the door finally shut off, and a moment later we faintly heard the door at the top of the stairs slam shut.

Surprisingly, I felt pretty relaxed, and almost too comfortable to move. But LeAnne insisted, so I got out of her way, only to find the middle of the floor was even more comfortable, especially when I laid flat on my back.

LeAnne immediately tried the door and found it apparently padlocked from the outside. I watched her with a sense of concerned amusement as she attempted to force it open.

"Tim... " she said in a haggard voice. "Come over here and help me... "

I struggled to my feet and glided over to her, then insisted she let a man try.

After spending five minutes working on the door, I said, "You know what?"
