The only Roswell fan fiction I am aware of is Shadow and Light by Tharos

IIRC, this was originally posted to SOL by someone who was stealing stories from elsewhere. The real author found out, complained to Lazeez, and it was taken down. Then the real author posted it here.
Although there is a fan fiction tag, SOL has never really been a major site for fan fiction. You'd probably want to check one of the fan fiction websites. I won't mention names since Lazeez doesn't like people being directed elsewhere (for obvious reasons), but I checked the two big sites and both have several thousand stories.
Make sure to distinguish between Roswell High, the original book series; Roswell (1999), the first TV series; and Roswell, New Mexico, the recent reboot TV series.
SOL has never really been a major site for fan fiction
I can't see any way to search for fan fiction on SOL. Is there a way ?

In the category search page. In the header bar, the link is titled 'Show All Tags'.
Also, in the category search page, you can check the 'Fan Fiction' box to search in combination with other tags.

Does that hang off a menu somewhere? I don't see it on the home page.
