Is the html Blockquote function broken?

Vincent Berg 🚫

I've been trying, over the past couple of days, to post two different chapters which keep screwing up. At first I discovered I hadn't properly closed a tag, but after that, I'm getting erratic behaviors. The story will display, then suddenly it'll skip a couple typed pages of text, only to resume mid-way through a closing html tag, at which point it starts all over at the start of the chapter, goes almost to the bottom and then simple stop altogether.

Again, I'm seeing consistent behavior in two different chapters on two different sites (SOL & FS).

Has anyone else noted this? And if so, has Lazeez recently installed any new code which might have broken something? Otherwise, I can't figure out what-the-heck is going on.

You'll get a quicker response if you send your question directly to the Webmaster.

My guess is you have a missing pair of < >

I would add the minimum HTML to the beginning and end, save as txt, change the txt to html in the filename, and bring it up on my browser.

Double check the code in the file and try again. I once had a pile of weird errors in a story I uploaded, it turned out to be a missing tag earlier in the story caused major hiccups to appear in different spots after that. That's why i run all the finished files through the HMTL checker website below before posting.

No new code.

What you're describing shouldn't happen. If your text is missing closing codes our cleanup/formatting scripts usually highlights it.

If it repeats, send me a message explaining exactly what you expected to see vs what actually showed up on the site and I'll see what went wrong.

Seems the 4th time is the charm! Both chapters went through without any glitches. Though I'm still concerned that it affected two different posts, on two different sites. That tends to point to 'intermittent problem' more than 'random system glitch'. :(

Still, all's happy in Phil's Demontown tonight. The various dragons, demons and fairies can sleep easily for a change.
