I've been on this site for a while and just realized that you need to do some special to be able to comment or review stories, which is undoubtedly why there are so few stories with reviews. I think that is a crime. I would have reviewed several stories if I had the ability. You shouldn't have something like that be locked.

Considering people people will vote 1 for a story just because there is a single thing in there they dislike, allowing any idiot to write a review would result in the reviews being less than worthless, with the noise drowning out the signal.

Given the sparsity of reviews, there is not much to drown out in the first place.
As to being worthless? Given that a reviewer (generally) has to explain the reasons for their score, there could be some comedic value to some of the reviews. The reviewer may not see that, but for the rest of us, there is a dark amusement to a review rating a story really low for technical ability, in a review riddled with spelling errors and crimes against punctuation. A bit akin to a TV interview with a rabid supporter for (insert political candidate of your choice here).
Then again, that just may be me...
If you want to post reviews all you need to do is contact Lazeez and ask to be granted access*.
Reviews are expected to be positive and criticism to be constructive. Like authors, reviewers are free to post as and when they have the time and desire.
I agree that there are many stories on SoL that deserve a review.
There are also stories that will probably never get a review as frankly simply posting that the author managed to spell their username correctly isn't worth the bandwidth.
*Obviously you shouldn't expect a reply to your request anytime soon as our dear webmaster has made so many millions from the site that he spends his time relaxing on exclusive private islands and has Eccentrica Gallumbits on speed dial.

I find it equally bemusing when the review is shorter than the story description or longer than the story.
