Are you refereeing to the Epub change? I just saw the first error from emailing from Sol to my Kindle. The .epub file was not recognized on my kindle even though .ebub is listed as now being supported.
Switch your settings to have the site email the story to your kindle.
Click 'My Account' and scroll down to 'Download Preferences'
When the site email a story to your kindle, it will send the EPUB file and it will work properly.
Even if he downloads the epub and manually mails it to his Kindle, if he does it right, Amazon should do the conversion.
I played around with the settings. I suggest moving forward you rename the settings for Kindle to be "Kindle/epub format" or something like that instead of "mobi". With amazon dropping support for mobi, epub should be the standard with the options being either a direct download of the epub file or to email the epub file direct to your kindle.

Amazon has only dropped support for mobi in the mail-to function.
It would actually be extra work to make mobi unreadable to a Kindle since AZWx is an extension of mobi.
Note: Amazon does not support epub natively on Kindle and A Kindle reader can not read epubs.
What happens is when you use the mail-to function to send an epub to your Kindle through Amazon is that Amazon will convert the epub to AZWx on their end before it gets sent to your Kindle.

This option is not working either. I have tried both ways and the Kindle option is still not sending to my fire.
Did you check the 'Email Kindle files to my Kindle' box and entered your kindle's email address in the form AND authorized storiesonline on Amazon's website?
The process requires configuring SOL's account to send to your kindle email address and configuring your Amazon's account to allow mail from Storiesonline.

I just ran a test. The story I sent through SOL is showing up on my account as a personal doc.
ETA: I verified the story (Dragon Daughters by Uncle Jim) on my Kindle for android.
One oddity. I don't know if this is because of the fact I had already read the story on SOL or a flaw in how the Epub is generated for a multi-chapter story that isn't posted all at once, but it thinks the start of chapter 12 is the beginning of the story.

I switched the mailer to EPUB about 2 or 3 weeks ago. after the switch, I tested and tested and it worked just like before on the kindles that I have.
Nobody else reported errors.
The thing is, that once the file is emailed, it's completely out of my hand and in Amazon's hand, so there is nothing I can do to fix it.
