Lost Stories

awnlee jawking ๐Ÿšซ

A few years back someone was posting a set of short Sci Fi stories. I'm hazy on the details after all this time but from what I can remember the protagonist and his girlfriend (non-human) were hauling space freight. There was a vengeful ex-wife and a vampire spaceport official.

Can anyone point me at these stories?

I don't remember any vampires in Ka Hamd? stories. But he does a lot of spaceports stories.

The Kaire series are Feline race.

Might be one of his stories.

Thanks for the suggestion. I read that story some time ago and it's really good; I can understand why people keep asking about it. (Un)fortunately it's not the ones I'm looking for.

Spartan story by Mike Cropo. Resemblance is thin at best, but worth a try

I can't remember the name of the story you're talking about, but I do remember it. Here's what I do remember:

The main character is former military, who owns/operates a space freighter, with a cat girl as his engineer. She was in the service with him. He has an ex-girlfriend, who is still in the Navy and is the captain of a local area ship that tends to harass and obsess over him in an unbalanced sort of way. He has a friend, who works on a local space station and she is a kind of vampire species and he helps hook her up with another friend who was a ship captain, but was injured and had to retire. He also has a mother who is some sort of famous pirate/mercenary, I think? He and the cat girl fall in love, plan to get married and visit her family on her home world, where her father is some sort of high general in their military. I also remember a terroristic attack that takes place at her parents house and she also has a younger and equally hot sister.

I remember a few other minor details, but as I said, not the title. I hope someone remembers it, because I'd like to see if the story was ever finished, because I recall it being a fairly good read.

Good Luck!

That's the story, or stories. From the above, the author published some more after my PC died and I was off the internet for a few months.

Please please can someone supply the author's name!

It sounds like it might be the Dizyntk Imperium universe by Brian in the Dark.

Thanks for the suggestion but that's not it/them.

A good set of stories though, and I intend to go back and re-read them one day.

Nah, Spiders, Otters, Banana Slugs and intelligent wolves in his space opera 'Time of Arrival'; Yeti, Mountain Lions, Were-Jackaloupe, even a Vampire in 'Open Clinic' but I don't remember any Cats, except for the bad guy's 'watchdogs' in Ground Cover. 'The Pilot's Tale' references a cat in association with space ships, but this is a short form of catalyst.

Was it Terry Pratchett (and which one) where a/some vampires wore a vial of blood on a necklace so that when the rays of the sun turned them to dust, the vial would fall and smash thus mixing their ashes with blood to regenerate them

Thanks,i knew he had some odd characters and have read stories about cats in the past year. Also heard about Artie through lost stories this year and thought it might have been him.I will check out Terry Pratchett who i have not read yet.

Probably not that, but a search found:

The girl is Cheetah-morph and was engineer on a tramp space freighter
I didn't read that one. Be warned, thekinkyserver content is often extreme.

try bran in the dark...for feline stories

There was a character in some Discworld books that had a vial of blood around his neck to regenerate him if he was exposed to light.

The poor thing was a photographer by trade, working for The Times (or whatever the newspaper was named) and it turned out that his flash gun had the capacity to reduce him to ashes.

The book in question is The Truth.
