Edit, found a rough, grainy clip of the scene, but it is cropped from what I remember.
I remember a made for TV movie of that book from 1980. It had Pam Dawber in it. I swear, the first time I watched it, at the very beginning was a very brief scene in a semi-dark bedroom that had a great shot of her bare ass and impressive side-boob as she climbed naked into bed with a guy she mistook for her boyfriend. Years later, when I saw it again, that brief bit of nudity was edited out.

That's the scene, but it is cropped to only show her lower legs after she removes the red tap pants. I remember the original scene showing her entire body as she gets into the bed.

I don't know about the bare butt, etc. I saw it years ago. Read the book years before that. John D. MacDonald was an excellent writer. Beside the Travis McGee books, he wrote some good scifi, like Ballroom in the Sky, and others.

My problem is that I can't totally let go of a "what's that book/story/song/actor" if I feel that I should know the answer. I won't search night and day, but I rarely forget that I am looking.
