Maybe it was a church on a military base and they were serving breakfast before the service. :)
Ever read about someone going to a dojo to train up on marital arts? Wes Boyd made that error a couple of times but I have also seen it elsewhere.
Edit:
Oh, and that "morning mess" may be more than a simple typo - the German word is "Messe" so it would be an easy mistake for a German speaker to make.
(Messe also has another meaning but that is not relevant here).

Martial arts, not marital arts.
I feel a lot better. I made an almost exactly the same post as palamedes, complete with links and quotations, posted it and sat back with a slightly uneasy sense of smug know-it-all satisfaction.
But still, my inner half-decent human being wouldn't 'Vic & Bob' it. And then the penny (other fiscal denominations are available) dropped.
To say that I quietly muttered 'shit' is an understatement and I hastily deleted my post before people started pointing fingers and laughing at the idiot...
