RL kicks my ass

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

A few years ago, I was RIF'ed from what I thought was the job I'd retire from.

I was happy, at that job, and had time to write, too.
The words flowed, for me, mainly because I was happy.

Two years later, the only work I can find is at less than half the rate I'd been earning.

I'm not nearly as happy, and the words don't seem to flow much.

I'm about 200K words into a new story, but you won't see it, until I'm done. I learned THAT lesson with "Y'all Ain't Never."

I had "Y'all..." completed, ON PAPER, but, the manuscript has since wandered away. In other words, even though the first chapter is posted, I've lost the remainder of the story. Someday, I'll have to re-visit it, and write it again, realizing that there is no way in Hel, that it will be the same story.

In the mean time, I get a few words down, on my new work, every few days. Not nearly my previous rate, but, as I said, The words just don't seem to flow, like they did.

I'm thinking of posting a chapter, that is an extended flashback in my current effort. The chapter is done, but I don't know if I want to post it, in the near future, or if I should wait until the main story is complete.

My main fan (my darling wife) is also of two minds, about this. Currently we are both leaning towards waiting until the main story is completed, and off to editing.

Yeah... Sucks to be me.
