I thank those of you who have voted on this story. I originally published this story, ending it at the end of chapter two, leaving the reader to decide what happened. However the feedback indicated that readers wanted closure so I chose my favourite ending, I had several possibilities, and wrote that.
Theidea was to explore the powerful maternal drive and what might happen if the husband couldn't provide the seed. In these days of IVF we often forget how difficult it was for people with infertility problems.
