This is a bit different from what I usually write. I'd read Athalia's "Daughters of Priapus" and complimented her on it, and she challenged me to write a similar story, about an older person rediscovering sexuality. I think she meant "an older male" person, but I thought it would be more fun this way. And it allowed me to finish a story I'd written a long time ago.
As I said in the postscript, half of this story is true. Only the names, locales, and a few other identifying facts have been changed. This is as much to protect "Lynette's" privacy as mine, because I'm told that she's now a fairly high-profile religious figure in her circles. I should add that I haven't seen her in over thirty years. The fictional part of the story was spurred by Athalia's challenge, and represents my idea of how the story might have turned out, if I only had the opportunity to see Lynette again. It starts with the phrase "My own path led me to Europe..."
I hope you enjoy the story, and forgive me if it seems too slow to develop. (I have added a "slow" label to the story codes to warn readers.) I could have cut a bit from the first part, but that would have lessened the dramatic impact of the second half, I think.
