A Corpsman is not a Marine

And vice versa. It has been pointed out to me that corpsmen with Marine units are not Marines. They are Navy!

And don't you forget it! I won't.

A corrected Chapter 10 will be uploaded by morning. It's either that or change the portrait of Bao. He looks so good in that uniform I can't bear to do that to him.

Carrying the Flag Chapter 10: Experience Gained

Continuing the rewrite of the previous version I am going to begin to diverge from the first version. For example, this chapter is only half as long as the original.

Two or three more rewritten chapters and I hope to maintain a one-chapter-per-week pace beyond that with totally new material. A little encouragement from my readers would help.

Chapter 9 revised and corrected.

Not a major change but a definite improvement to the soccer scene. I'd like to hear your reactions to it.

Carrying the Flag Chapter 9 - Relief

Carrying the Flag Chapter 9 - Relief is in the queue.

My apologies, also, for the confusion on the Clitorides awards page. For a short time the link provided there did not work. The fault was mine for deleting the old version of CTF. The problem has been corrected.

My reason for doing what I did was that I knew the rewrite would be different enough if I replaced the old one chapter at a time readers would be confused. I wanted everyone to start all over from square one for that reason.

I have three rewritten chapters to go and then the story will continue on from there.

Thank you for your patience.

Unintended Consequences

It was brought to my attention that the link to Carrying the Flag on the Clitorides page went to a "Not Found" message. I'm told this has been corrected.

If it hasn't, the correct link is http://storiesonline.net/s/13518/carrying-the-flag

Turns out that's what can happen if you ask a story to be taken down. Basically all record of it is deleted, including cheers and brickbats.

I guess I shot myself in the foot with that one, but I wanted people to read Carrying the Flag with fresh eyes, making it clear that it was a fairly extensive rewrite.
