To everyone who's dropped me an encouraging word over the last few months, thank you very much!

From a writing standpoint, last year sucked. But it looks like I'll have around 90+ minutes a few weeknights to keep going, and I'm excited about it. Posting will be slow, but hopefully more constant.

The next chapter is with the moderators now, it should be up soon. Hope you enjoy.

Thank you, everyone who's been asking for more. I'm not done, I promise. Unfortunately, I partially re-injured myself twice in the last 30 days. So, I'm giving myself extra time to heal up. Not sure what the deal is, since all were odd instances, not things that would ordinarily be injury-inducing.

So, much appreciated for the encouragement, and stay tuned.

Over the past couple of months this site's experienced a little instability. It happens, the site's been around for quite a while now. I've got no idea what the total daily traffic is, but given the download numbers I'd guess it's not a small number. Managing that can't be the easiest task.

Some of you have expressed concern to me that you might not be able to finish the story I'm writing if something does happen to the site. I do not personally think anything is likely to; the owner does a good job. But stranger things have happened, so I was attempting to address any concerns regarding my plans for my own writing.

I intend to finish the story, and even have at least one (most likely much) shorter related story already started. For now, they'll be here solely. If, in the future I post them elsewhere, I'll announce it.

That's it, full stop. I'm not personally worried about storiesonline, but like any prudent person I do have all my writing backed-up, in multiple locations. Good thing too, since one got corrupted last year somehow.

Everyone, thank you for your encouragement. Getting feedback after every chapter is both motivating and helpful. I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I'll do my best to have it online somewhere, no matter what happens to this site.

Unfortunately, I sprained my left forefinger at the beginning of the month. The chapter that just went up is the last one I had in the queue before I had to take a several week hiatus from writing, to let it heal. So, there won't be any more for at least a week, if not longer. Please be patient, more is coming.

So, I've replaced both with something different (once the moderators actually do it). The old ones will appear some other place, later. I'm not sure when/where but they don't fit well with how the story has taken shape so far. You may recognize the new prologue from my other posted work. I'll be taking that one down after the switch is made. For those of you who asked that it be continued, the current book is where that happens. I'm sorry if you were hoping for something different.

Again, thank you to all who send comments and encouragement, you have no idea how motivating it is to receive them. I'm glad you like what I'm doing.

To address the questions regarding publishing on a paid site (like the Big River one) well, I have one of those jobs where it might cause problems. When I retire in a few years, I'll probably publish what I've completed then. But for now, enjoy it here, and thank you as well for telling me that you think my work is worth people's hard-earned money.
